The Gypsy/Dalit people are communities with origins in the Indian subcontinent. They have a rich cultural heritage and in many places have faced social stigma and marginalization.
Gypsy/Dalit communities in India often face challenges related to social stigma, discrimination, limited access to education and healthcare, inadequate housing, and economic marginalization. United Lives works to address these challenges and promote their well-being.
Our primary focus is on supporting Gypsy/Dalit communities in Chennai, India. However, we aim to expand our reach and impact other regions as we grow and resources allow.
Our work encompasses several key areas: Cultural Preservation, Community Advocacy, Education, Healthcare Initiatives, Economic Development, Youth Engagement, and Housing and Infrastructure.
We work closely with the Roma communities to understand their needs and priorities. We aim to be culturally sensitive, sustainable, and impactful. We regularly monitor and evaluate our work to ensure we are achieving our goals and making a positive difference.
